The range of names is broad: from classics of Russian painting of the turn of the 20th century and masters of the Soviet school to artists working today, Russian and international – Mikhail Shemyakin, David Burliuk, Vladimir Nemukhin, Salvador Dalí, Marc Chagall, Ernst Neizvestny, alongside a strong Rostov contemporary scene.
The biographies are not encyclopaedia summaries: dates, places and facts were checked against external sources, and only the confirmed is stated.
