About the artist

An artist and curator, the most recognizable figure of Moscow actionism. Born in Kyiv. World fame came to him with the “Man-Dog” series of performances (from 1994), in which he appeared in the guise of an aggressive dog — a radical statement about the boundaries of the human and about post-Soviet corporeality. He later moved to photography, sculpture and large-scale curatorial projects, turning to themes of nature and spirituality. A participant in the Venice Biennale; his works are in major international collections. The foundation’s catalogue holds two works.
