Don Foundation auctions

Don Foundation is an auction house. We hold our sales ourselves, online on this site: painting, graphics, sculpture and decorative art, including limited-edition prints and artist porcelain. You can take part from any city.

How to take part

  1. Apply on the online auction page: your name, email and agreement to the terms of participation.
  2. Check your email: we will send a message headed “Request received”. Confirming your address with the link in it is optional – it simply makes sure our notice reaches you. If the address was confirmed before, no email will come.
  3. Wait for approval: the organisers review each application and email you a personal link to the auction room.
  4. Study the lot catalogue and, if you wish, place advance bids before the sale starts.
  5. On the day of the sale the auctioneer opens the lots one by one: bid with the “Bid” button or enter your own amount.
  6. When the countdown ends or the auctioneer brings the hammer down, the lot goes to the highest bidder. If a lot has a reserve price – the minimum selling price – the bid must reach it, otherwise the lot stays unsold.
  7. The winner gives a delivery address and receives one invoice for the lots and delivery; once it is paid, we ship the work.

For details, see our guide “How to take part in an auction”. Works available outside the sales are gathered in the catalogue – each has a price or the option to request one.

Online auction and selling a work

Applications, the terms and the bidding itself are on the online auction page of our website; the lot catalogue opens once your application is approved. A separate page explains how an art auction works and how the price is formed; if you are new to it, read how to take part, from application to delivery. Want to sell a painting or another work of art? Don Foundation accepts works for its sales – start with a free valuation from photographs.
