About the artist

A German painter, one of the best-known contemporary masters of portrait caricature and “pop realism”. Born in Hameln. He became famous for his grotesque yet virtuoso portraits of rock stars and celebrities – above all the members of The Rolling Stones, with whom he collaborated closely. His manner combines Old-Master technique with caricature and pop aesthetics. His works have been shown in Europe and the USA and are widely reproduced. The foundation’s catalogue holds one work.
