A large-format work by Konstantin Batynkov, connected to his project "Allegories. A Knight's Romance", shown at the pop/off/art gallery in Moscow in 2006. It is executed in the artist's characteristic manner – acrylic and ink on vinyl fabric, in an elongated "panoramic" format close to a cinema screen. Batynkov assembles the image from recognizable motifs, joining ironic detachment with a sense of vast, almost epic space in which the human figure is lost among large-scale forms. This register – restrained, near-monochrome, with a faint apocalyptic note – is typical of his painting and graphic work of these years.
