Ballerina

Technique: Canvas, oil.
Size: 50 × 90 cm.

This depiction of a ballerina belongs to the easel painting of Boris Iordansky, a Soviet painter, graphic artist and muralist trained at the VKhUTEMAS-VKhUTEIN in Moscow, including under Alexander Shevchenko. Alongside historical-revolutionary canvases and monumental-decorative commissions, his oeuvre encompassed portrait and genre subjects; the theatrical and ballet theme also recurred later in his career, when he contributed to the decoration of an opera and ballet theatre. The piece is executed in oil on canvas.
