A work by Valerio Carrubba (b. 1975), painted in oil on stainless steel – the material and technique that shaped his manner. The artist reproduces the same image twice, laying an identical layer over the first, which removes the brushwork and yields his characteristic smooth, detached "synthetic" surface. The anatomical, disturbingly hyperreal imagery and the wordplay of the titles are typical of his pieces at the turn of the 2000s–2010s, when the artist was exhibiting in European galleries.
