Green Boat on the Pitsunda Embankment

Technique: Canvas, oil.
Size: 100 × 100 cm.

Green Boat on the Pitsunda Embankment continues the landscape line in Alla Polkovnichenko's work associated with her travels across Russia and the neighbouring countries. The motif of a moored boat on the Black Sea seafront of Pitsunda (Abkhazia) is painted in oil in a realist manner rooted in the school of the Surikov Institute and the studio of V. M. Sidorov, where the artist trained. The composition rests on the contrast between the saturated green hull of the boat and the muted tones of the shore and water.
