Snow in Gagra

Technique: Canvas, oil.
Size: 100 × 100 cm.

Snow in Gagra belongs to the landscapes Alla Polkovnichenko painted during her journeys along the Black Sea coast. The artist records a state rare for subtropical Gagra (Abkhazia) – the resort town under snow – combining observation from nature with a broadly handled manner. The work is executed in oil in the realist tradition descending from the Surikov Institute and the studio of V. M. Sidorov.
