Santa Maria del Fiore

Size: 40 × 35 cm.

Santa Maria del Fiore presents a view of the Florence cathedral crowned by Brunelleschi's dome, one of the central monuments of the Italian Renaissance. The work belongs to the cityscapes of Vladimir Chekmaryov, a Rostov-on-Don painter trained as an architect, who frequently portrayed European scenes. His manner is marked by a heightened attention to light and a layered acrylic technique rooted in the Impressionist tradition.
