Landscape

Technique: Cardboard, oil.
Size: 34 × 50 cm.

This landscape is executed in oil on cardboard, a support often used by painters working directly from nature. Its intimate format and choice of material align the work with the study (étude) tradition of mid-twentieth-century Russian landscape painting. The image rests on direct observation of a natural motif.
