Dombay

Year:1999

1 100 $

Technique: Canvas, oil.
Size: 60 × 80 cm.

Dombay is a mountainous area of the Western Caucasus; in this oil landscape Alexey Adamov turns to the landscape direction of his work, which he pursues alongside his marines. The artist works within the Russian realist tradition, conveying the relief of the mountains and the quality of alpine air and light. For a native of the seaside town of Taganrog, the mountain motif complements a landscape repertoire more often associated with the sea.
