Year:1961
In selections:Russian painting, Contemporary painting
11 900 $
Technique: Canvas, mixed media.
Size: 60 × 49 cm.
An early painting in mixed media. The figure of the jester is one of Shemyakin's central, recurring images, from which his carnival universe would later grow. The pairing of the jester with Beethoven brings together the theatrical grotesque characteristic of the artist and the theme of music.
