The still life was one of the recurring genres in the work of the Leningrad artist Marina Time-Blok, who worked within the realist school. Executed on paper in mixed media, the sheet belongs to her easel graphics; she also turned to the still-life genre in her paintings over the years. A graduate of the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad, Time-Blok was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists, and her works are held in museum and private collections.
