Evening

Technique: Canvas, oil.
Size: 60 × 60 cm.

This evening landscape continues the landscape line Bukh pursued alongside flowers and city views. The work belongs to his mature Expressionist period, when the artist painted with his hands, having abandoned brushes, and constructed the image in large masses of colour. The twilight mood is conveyed less by the motif than by tone and the density of the paint layer.
