Iron Age

Year:2022

In selections:Russian painting, Contemporary painting

1 100 $

Technique: Canvas, oil.
Size: 70 × 90 cm.

The title alludes to the classical notion of the "Iron Age" – the last and harshest of the epochs in the myth of the successive ages of mankind. This motif accords with Alexander Chursin's sustained engagement with the classical tradition, which he transposes into a contemporary context. The subject is realized in easel oil painting in the Old Master technique.
