Heart

Author:Vladimir Genrikhovich Anzelm
Year:2013
3 000 $
Technique: Charcoal, resin.
Size: 45 × 35 cm.
The heart – an image at once anatomical and symbolic – is executed in coal and resin, a material to which the artist turns repeatedly. For Anzelm coal is linked to industrial memory and "heavy" materiality, so a living, "warm" motif is translated into cold industrial matter. The work belongs to the group of objects in which organic and cultural forms are embodied in coal.
