Skull with Bones

Technique: Charcoal, resin.
Size: 17 × 20 × 24 cm.

The skull with bones – an enduring memento mori image – is executed in coal and resin, a material of industrial origin characteristic of Anzelm. Joining the classic symbol of mortality with coal, which carries the theme of industrial memory, shifts the timeless subject into a material, "geological" register. The small three-dimensional object continues the line of works in which cultural forms are embodied in industrial matter.
