Porcelain sculpture “Schoolchildren”. Polonne Factory of Artistic Ceramics, 1956-1972. Porcelain, painting. Height – 18 cm, length – 12 cm. The history of the factory dates back to 1895 in the city of Polonne, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Ukraine. The factory's craftsmen were among the first to begin making porcelain souvenir and gift wares: figurines, vases, teapots and many others. Hand painting was used, in keeping with the style of folk art. Thanks to the factory's artists and sculptors, the forms and decoration of the wares produced were improved. Demand grew for the products, which sold successfully both within Ukraine and abroad. From September 1956 the factory became a state enterprise and received the name “Polonne Factory of Artistic Ceramics” (ZKhK). Condition – good. No chips or restoration. Minor crack in the glaze.
