A large-scale canvas from the 'Azov-City' cycle (2008). The series shares its name with the Azov-City project – Russia's first federal gambling zone, whose plan was approved in 2007 and whose construction began in 2008 on the coast of the Taganrog Bay, in the Azov district of Rostov Region and the Shcherbinovsky district of Krasnodar Krai. A Rostov artist's turn to this name situates the work within a much-discussed regional undertaking of those years. Irina Grabkova is a contemporary artist from Rostov-on-Don who takes part in exhibitions of the region's contemporary art.
