"Golden Bouquet" belongs among the floral still lifes – the principal theme of the late Bukh – and was painted in the last years of his life. Like other works of this time it is executed by hand, without brushes, in a dense layer of paint, the colour taken openly and resonantly. The bouquet remains for the artist an occasion for an extremely free, almost abstract handling of paint.
