A small-scale porcelain sculpture by Efim Aronovich Gendelman (1914–1982) with polychrome painting. 'On the Beach' is among the best-known works of the artist's Leningrad period: at the 1958 All-Russian Exhibition of Folk Applied and Decorative Art of the RSFSR it was awarded a second-class diploma together with the sculpture 'Sketching' (Na etiude). Works by Gendelman, who worked at the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory in Leningrad, are held in the State Hermitage, the State Russian Museum and the Kuskovo Museum-Estate.
