This large canvas of sunflowers continues the line of plein-air motifs of the central Russian countryside to which Tatyana Radimova turned throughout her life. The daughter of the artist and poet Pavel Radimov, the last chairman of the Peredvizhniki (Society of Itinerant Artists), and a student of the Surikov Institute, she worked within the realist tradition, painting landscapes of the Russian provinces and studies from Abramtsevo. The oil painting is built on the saturated colour of a summer motif. The artist's works are held in the State Tretyakov Gallery and in regional museum collections across Russia.
