"Jerusalem Window" refers to Marc Chagall's celebrated cycle of stained-glass windows for the synagogue of the Hadassah Medical Center at Ein Kerem, near Jerusalem. The twelve windows are dedicated to the twelve tribes of Israel, the sons of Jacob, drawing on the blessings of Jacob (Genesis 49) and Moses (Deuteronomy 33). Executed in the Jacques Simon workshop in Reims, they were shown at the Louvre and the Museum of Modern Art in New York before their installation in Jerusalem. This sheet is a serigraph reproducing one of the windows from the cycle, with Chagall's characteristic treatment of colour and light.
