Life years 1865–1929

About the artist

A landscape painter of Greek descent, born in Yevpatoria. A pupil of Arkhip Kuindzhi at the Academy of Arts, he belonged to the circle of his followers alongside Roerich and Rylov. He painted southern and northern landscapes with the attention to light and decorative colour characteristic of the “Kuindzhi school”. He took part in academic exhibitions and in shows of the “World of Art” circle. After the revolution he emigrated and died in Greece. The foundation’s catalogue holds one work.
