About the artist

A sculptor, People’s Artist of Russia and full member of the Russian Academy of Arts. The author of monumental and easel works recognizable by their surreal, almost Baroque imagery: floating hands, cloaks, wings, fragments of bodies. His sculpture unites the classical tradition with metaphysics and theatricality. In Moscow there is the “Burganov House” – the artist’s museum and studio. His works are installed in Russia and abroad. The foundation’s catalogue holds one work.
