"Girl and Horse" is an easel graphic sheet by Alexander Burganov, a sculptor and People's Artist of Russia, for whom drawing was inseparable from his work in sculpture. The horse is a recurring motif of his graphic art: in the romantic images inspired by his trip to Italy, the horse becomes a metaphor for a youth, an echo of Mediterranean myths. Executed in the artist's own technique, the sheet builds its subject on the juxtaposition of a girl and a horse, uniting classical plasticity with a surreal, almost metaphysical vision. Burganov's graphic work, alongside his sculpture, is presented at the "Burganov House" museum in Moscow.
